Treading the Pandemic: Field Epidemiology at the Forefront

The Epidemiology Bureau (EB), in partnership with DOH – CHD IVA CALABARZON, Institute of Philippine Culture – ADMU and FETPAFI, will conduct its first virtual FETP Annual Scientific Conference. This event will serve as a venue to highlight the epidemiologic investigations conducted by FETP Follows including local and national responses of public health professionals in the time of pandemic. Likewise, it aims to engage the participants in the scientific exchange of information which includes updates in field epidemiology, sharing of promising practices and current trends in adapting to the new normal.

Webinar: Neutralizing Antibody Testing for Post-Vaccination Monitoring: What, Why and How?

In partnership with RITM and Duke-NUS Medical School, Dr. Linfa Wang, inventor of the surrogate virus neutralization test (sVNT) called cPass, will present its principles and performance comparison with conventional virus neutralization test (VNT), and its wide applications from assessing immunogenicity of vaccines in different individuals, using assay results as biomarkers for correlates of protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection, to the comparative efficacy study of different vaccines against different variants of SARS-CoV-2.  There will be a discussion on how it can help guide formulation of effective vaccination dosing and booster strategies should these be adopted by different agencies.
